Ofoodiez Referrals Bot — Terms of Service

The Ofoodiez Referrals Bot (the "Service") connects job seekers ("candidates") with employees at tech companies ("advocates") who may choose to submit an internal referral on the candidate's behalf. The Service is operated by Ofoodiez and runs over WhatsApp.

1. What the Service is (and isn't)

• The Service is free for candidates.
• Advocates participate voluntarily. Ofoodiez is not a recruitment agency, does not represent the companies listed, and receives no instruction from them.
• Company names appearing in the Service belong to their respective owners and do not imply any affiliation with or endorsement of Ofoodiez.

2. No guarantees

We do our best to route your CV to a real advocate, but we cannot and do not promise:

• that an advocate will submit your referral,
• that you will get an interview, a response, or a job,
• any timeline for a referral being handled.

A confirmed referral means an advocate told us they submitted it — the hiring process itself belongs entirely to the company.

3. Your information

To operate the Service we collect your name, WhatsApp number, email address, your CV, and the companies and roles you ask about. This information — including your CV — is kept in our database so we can process your requests and follow up on them.

• When you request a referral, your name, email and CV are shared with the advocate(s) at the company you chose — that's the point of the Service.
• We keep your details and CV on file so we can offer you other relevant job opportunities that match your profile. If you'd rather we didn't, ask us to remove your data at any time.
• Advocates' identities are shared with candidates only if the advocate chose to share their contact details.
• We never sell your data. See the Privacy Policy for details, and the data deletion page to have your data removed.
• Providing your information is voluntary — you are under no legal duty to share it. Without it, though, we can't process referrals for you.
• We keep your information while the Service is active, or until you ask us to delete it.
• Under Israel's Privacy Protection Law you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time — email [email protected], or message the bot "edit my details" and reply delete.

4. Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate, truthful information and only your own CV.
• Use the Service for genuine job searching — no spam, scraping, or bulk requests.
• You must be at least 18 years old.

5. Advocates

• Advocates confirm only referrals they actually submitted, and may decline or ignore any request at their sole discretion.
• Advocates are responsible for complying with their employer's referral policies.
• Advocates can leave the program at any time by messaging the bot.

6. Third-party services

The Service runs on WhatsApp (via Twilio) and sends emails (via Brevo). Your use of WhatsApp is also governed by WhatsApp's own terms, and standard messaging rates from your carrier may apply.

7. Fair use and termination

We may block users who abuse the Service, impersonate others, submit false information, or spam advocates. We may change, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time.

8. Liability

The Service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ofoodiez is not liable for the actions of advocates, candidates, or companies, nor for any loss or damage arising from use of the Service — including missed opportunities, hiring decisions, or the content of CVs and job postings exchanged through it.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version, and continued use of the Service after a change means you accept it.
